Cameron Ferguson
“It was through Cameron’s work in gaming that he found his love for content creation”
Cameron leads the day-to-day operations of BALANCED’s technology development and HEWMEN team by bringing over 15 years of professional development experience to the company. He began his career in gaming by helping found the volunteer support program for the official United States Army’s video game called America’s Army. He was fortunate enough to be given a chance during that time to create a project that was hosted on their official website to help bring support to the game’s avid fanbase more easily and quickly, which solidified his love and interest for software development.
Upon graduating with his degree in Game and Simulation Programming, Cameron started his career at L3 Harris Technologies: Link Simulation and Training (L3 Communications), where he worked with the graphical sub-system technology that ran many of the fast-jet simulators used to train pilots for the USAF, USMC and other militaries around the world. While at Link, he became one of the primary F-16 simulation engineers in his department, working on everything from visual graphics, sensor technologies, and tools to help the Air Force train pilots for missions and plane operations.
In 2014, an opportunity opened for a senior multiplayer network programmer at Nerd Kingdom, adding multiplayer support to an existing title. Cameron quickly rose to the role of Lead Programmer, supervising game development with a small group of developers through multiple game releases and supporting leadership during $11+ million in series funding, leading to an acquisition.
It was through Cameron’s work in gaming that he found his love for content creation on a platform called Beam which became acquired by Microsoft and renamed to Mixer. He was one of the platform’s first partners and, over the course of 6 years, became one of its largest and highest earning variety streamers. Today, he still streams as a hobby and maintains an active and engaged community on the Twitch streaming platform.
Cameron joined BALANCED in 2016 and has worked on numerous projects helping solidify a solid seed round and many years of runway. He was promoted to Technical Director in 2019 and helps develop scalable backend infrastructure and client applications for the company’s wide-ranging needs, as well as helps provide advice and direction on how to achieve company goals through technology.
